Welcome to Otto Simon, your reliable partner in toy import. Since 1911, we have been active as an importer of toys and have developed into a renowned company with a rich history.
Our founder, Otto Simon, started in 1911 as a peddler specializing in beads and glassware. After World War II, our focus shifted to toys and in 1955 we became a private limited company. In the decades that followed, we grew to become one of the largest toy importers in Europe, with an 80% market share in the Netherlands.
From 1970 to 1989, we were part of Bührmann-Tetterode, after which our toy division was acquired by the German company Intercontor AG. Since then, we have become a retail organization with our own toy formulas, including Speelboom, Wigwam, Technohobby, and Early Learning Centre. In 1999, it was announced that we would be discontinuing the ELC formula, and in 2000 the Wigwam and Speelboom formulas were incorporated into our new formula Top1Toys.
At Otto Simon, we strive to provide our customers with high-quality toys that stimulate children's development and contribute to their enjoyment. Our experience and knowledge enable us to select and import the best toys from all corners of the world.
In 2021, we expanded our range by acquiring Marskramer from the Audax group. This has enabled us to further diversify our offering and better serve our customers.
